Andrea grew up in Barcelona, and the city seems to run through her. The first time I spent an evening with her, I realized she knew Barcelona in a way guidebooks never could. She’d mention a little restaurant tucked down a quiet street, or a rooftop bar where the lights of the city looked different somehow. With her, the night never felt rushed; she understood how an evening should unfold.

Of course people notice her beauty first, that’s inevitable. But it doesn’t take long to realize that isn’t what makes people come back to see her. There’s a warmth to her, an ease in the way she talks and laughs, that makes time around her feel natural, almost effortless. Her English is flawless, but it’s the way she makes you feel understood that really stays with you.

Most of the time she meets people in hotels around the centre of the city, though she’ll cross Barcelona without much hesitation if the occasion feels right.
